PHILADELPHIA - The March of Dimes held its 13th annual Achievement in Radio (A.I.R.) Awards luncheon Wednesday afternoon, and University of Pennsylvania senior Brian Seltzer was a two-time winner.
TheAIR Awardshonors the top radio personalities in the city of Philadelphia, and was held Wednesday at the Hilton on City Avenue.
Seltzer -- who is known to Quaker fans as the play-by-play man for Penn basketball and a sideline reporter during Quaker football games -- won in the college division for Best Sports Reporting/Play-by-Play Announcing for Penn Men's Basketball on WXPN (88.5 FM).
He also won an award for Best Sports Reporting in the professional competition for his coverage of the Philadelphia Eagles training camp this summer for Sports Talk 950 WPEN AM. Despite his rigorous class schedule and other Penn duties -- including sitting on the policy board for WXPN -- Seltzer continues to serve as the Eagles’ beat reporter this season.
Seltzer and Vince Curran will be back for their second year together as Penn basketball’s play-by-play duo, starting Friday night when the Quakers meet UTEP in the first round of the BCA Invitational in Syracuse, N.Y.
