Athlete of the Week

Emily Petkun, Gymnastics (Ardmore, PA) -
At the 20th Annual Towson Invitational on Feb. 19, Petkun became the first Penn gymnast in program history to win the all-around competition in an invitational meet, scoring a 38.300 to take the event. Full Story

MBB: Penn Captures Ivy League Crown

The University of Pennsylvania men’s basketball team captured the 2004-05 ourtight Ivy League title and automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with an 80-72 victory over Columbia on Saturday night in Levein Gym. The Quakers were powered by sophomore Ibrahim Jaaber’s career-high 26 points and senior guard Tim Begley who tallied 24 points and broke Penn’s career three-point record.

TR/CC:Jaworski Breaks Heptagonal Record as Penn Finishes Third at Championships

Junior Courtney Jaworski successfully defended his title in the 800m run by setting a new Heptagonal record while freshman Mike Hall captured the heptathlon as the University of Pennsylvania men’s track and field team finished third at the 2005 Indoor Heptagonal Championships this afternoon.
