Penn Swimming Splits in New Haven, Conn.; Both Teams Defeat Dartmouth


New Haven, Conn. -
Both the men's and women's swimming teams earned splits in New Haven, Conn. as the Quakers swept the Big Green of Dartmouth and fell to host Yale on Saturday afternoon.

The men's squad topped Dartmouth, 198-102, this afternoon and the women's team followed that effort by outpointing the Big Green, 205-94. Host Yales, sweeping both Penn and Dartmouth, came out on top against the men's team, 181-107, and outswam th Red and Blue women, 199.5-99.5.

The Penn women's 400-yard fresstyle relay team of Laura Hotaling, Stephanie Colson, Jessica Aiello and Kathryn Stores captured the event with a time of 3:35.89. Megan Carlin won the 100-yard breaststrokewith a finishing time of 1:05.91 and Cammie Villarreal and Maureen Schriver finished in first and second-place, respectively, in the 1,000-yard freestyle event. Villarreal touched with a time of 10:22.62 and Schriver followed, finishing with a time of 10:27.16.

Both the men and women's swim teams will be in the pool again on Jan. 26, racing at Rider. The meet has a 5:30 p.m. start time.
