PHILADELPHIA - When Penn defeated La Salle, 73-65, last Wednesday,Penn Head Men's Basketball Coach Fran Dunphy won his 300th career game at Penn. Coach Dunphy was already the winningest coach in Penn basketball history, and this milestone just adds one morelandmark to his already impressive resume.
Penn Athletics will celebrate this achievement at the February 3 home game vs. Brown and theFebruary 4 home game vs. Yale.Game time both nights is 7 p.m., and there will bea commemorative "Coach Dunphy 300" giveaway before each game. Coach Dunphy will also be honored in a special pre-game recognition before Saturday night's game with the Bulldogs.
Friday, February 3 is also "Take a Kid toa Game Day," where childreneighth grade and under receive half-price admission with the purchase of one adult ticket (limitfour half-priced tickets per every one adult ticket). In addition, it is also Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night, where Penn Faculty and Staff can purchase $3 ticketswith a valid PennCard (limit 4 per ID).
The celebration kicked offWednesday night, when Penn studentsgot the chance to "Dine with Dunphy" at Hill College House Dining Commons. Coach Dunphy ate dinner with the students and then answered questions on the current Quakers. You can listen to the "Dining with Dunphy" here.
