Penn Topped by Bears

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The University of Pennsylvania men's swimming and diving team lost to Brown 137.50-105.50 at the Smith Swim Center on Saturday. Penn won just three events on theday.

In the first event of the da, the team of Neville Mitchell, Jon Kaufman, Pat Maloney and Kevin Scott finished second in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:31.03. Patrick Gallagher (1:45.06) and Devon Scott (1:45.07) finished second and third in the 200-yard freestyle.

In the one meter diving, Tyler Markman secured first place with 266.92 points. Markman, Rob Wyss and Nick Corsano placed third through fifth in the three meter diving.

Carr (1:54.56) picked up the Quakers first win in the 200-yard butterfly. Maloney (1:54.96) finished just behind his teammate. The Red and Blue's final victory came in the 400-yard freestlye relay. Carr, Scott, John Gillette and Gallagher took the day's final event with a time of 3:10.98.

Penn is next in action on Saturday, Jan. 21 when they travel to New Haven, Conn. to take on Yale and Dartmouth at 10 a.m.
