Penn Volleyball Falls to Princeton

Philadelphia, Pa.– The University of Pennsylvania volleyball team fell to League rival Princeton 3-1 this evening at The Palestra..

It was a hard fought match all around. The Tigers (9-3) won the first two games 32-30 and 33-31 before the Quakers (6-5) came back with a 31-29 victory in the third game. Princeton closed out the match with a 30-25 victory in the fourth game.

Junior Cara Thomason had 21 kills and38 digs for the Quakers. This dig total set a new Penn record for the most digs in a match. Freshman Linda Zhang had51 assists, six killsand five service acesand sophomore Amy Starosta had ten kills in the loss. Junior Michelle Kauffman had 13 kills and Ivy League Rookie of the week Laura Black hadseven kills

Penn is next in action at Yale on October 8 at 7 p.m.
