PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team was voted Philadelphia Soccer Seven champions by the league's coaches, while Head Coach Rudy Fuller was named Coach of the Year. Four Quakers were also named to theall-star team. The awards were presented at the annual Philadelphia Soccer Seven banquet Wednesday evening.
Fuller earned the Bill Harris Coach of the Year honor after guiding his squad tothe No. 18 nationalranking early in the season. The Quakers also posted shutouts in half of their contests this season.
Four Quakers were also named all-stars. Seniors John Rhodes and Erik Violante, junior Dan Cepero and freshman Mike Klein all earned honors.
The Quakers wrapped up a solid 9-6-3 season and went 2-0 in Soccer Seven play without allowing a goal in wins against Temple (1-0) and Drexel (5-0).
