Cambridge, Mass. -- The University of Pennsylvania women's fencing team continued its success bydominating competition, 4-0,at the MIT Multi-Meet on Sunday.
The Quakers (11-2, 1-1 Ivy)defeated the University of North Carolina, 24-3. The Penn victory was highlighted by a 9-0 victory in the foil. The Quakers then went on to defeat Brandeis, 22-5 and that victory was highlighted by another 9-0 sweep, this time in the sabre.
Penn finished up competition by defeating MIT, 21-6 and Brown 20-7. The Quaker have out-scored their opponents, 257-95 in 13 matches contested on the season. They have swept the foil, 9-0, in two matches and the sabre, 9-0, also in two matches so far this season.
The Penn women's fencing team returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 9 when they host Temple and Princeton in Weightman Hall beginning at 5 p.m.
