Penn Women's Swimming Defeats La Salle, 157-80

Penn women's swimming and diving picked up the second win of the season with a 157-80 victory over La Salle on Nov.23. Cameron Villarreal picked upa pair of wins in the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard backstroke events.

Villarreal was victorious in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.63 and followed her win up with a victory in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:11.70. Penn (2-1) earned five wins in the freestyle events as Maureen Schriver claimed the 1000-yard freestyle event (10:43.00), Stephanie Colson won the 50-yard freestyle (24.83), Kathryn Stores was victorious in the 100-yard freestyle (54.06) and Margot Newcomer won the 500-yard freestyle (5:09.53).

Also winning events for the Quakers were Amy Ottensmeyer, finishing with a time of 2:12.70, and Katie Coxe, finishing in 2:10.03 for the victory.

The women's relay team was busy earning points for the Quakers as the 400-yard medley relay team won in a time of 4:03.22. Janis Scanlon won the 300-meter diving event with a score of 222.45.

Penn welcomes Columbia to Sheerr Pool on Dec. 3 with the first event beginning at 6 p.m.
