Quakers Support Golf Fights Cancer Initative on Behalf of David Hovey III

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men’s lacrosse team is proud to support the Golf Fights Cancer initiative and their participation in the 2017 Boston Marathon on behalf of David Hovey III, son of David Hovey II and ‘82 graduate of the Quaker lacrosse team.

The Red and Blue are wearing a specially designed helmet sticker for the remainder of the season in support of David to commemorate his valiant fight with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. A 2013 graduate of St. Lawrence University, David captained the lacrosse team and was a first team all-conference selection for the Saints. David raised over $133,000 glioblastoma research and helped to bring awareness for the rare form of cancer after a courageous 16-month battle against the disease.
