PHILADELPHIA--Joey Rhoads led the Penn women’s basketball team in scoring in all three contests over the last two weeks and was named the Big 5 Player of the Week for her efforts. It is her first such honor of her career.
The senior tallied a career-high 28 points against Drexel in Penn’s first win at The Palestra this season. She also pulled down a career-high five rebounds in the victory in which she played all 40 minutes of action.
Rhoads then netted 15 points in the Quakers loss to Big 5 rival Temple and dished out five assists in 39 minutes of play. For the third game in a row Rhoads led her team in scoring as she recorded 19 points in the 75-63 loss to Loyola. On the week she averaged 20.6 ppg and 3.67 assists per game.
Rhoads and the Quakers open Ivy League action Saturday at The Palestra against Princeton. The game will tip off at 7 p.m.
