Philadelphia - Penn women's basketball's Joey Rhoads was named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week after her game-high 14 points, two points and two steals in Penn's 68-33 win over Lafayette on Jan. 10.
Rhoads came off the bench to score 14 points and lead the way for Penn in a 68-33 win over Lafayette. Rhoads scored 11 of her game-high 14 points in the first half and finished the game perfect from the floor (5-for-5), from beyond the arc (2-for-2) and from the free-throw line (2-for-2). Rhoads also added two assists and two steals in only 22 minutes of action for the Quakers.
The Huntingdon Valley, Pa. native is third on the team in scoring, averaging 8.5 points per game and leads the Quakers with 12 steals (1.0 spg). Rhoadshas twice led the Red and Blue in scoring for a game. In addition to her performance at Lafayette, she dropped 16 points on Drexel on Dec. 23.
The Quakers are in the midst of a three-game winning streak, their longest of the season, and look to continue their winning ways at Lehigh on Jan. 18 at 7 p.m.
