PHILADELPHIA--Senior guard Joey Rhoads earned her first Ivy League Player of the Week honor of the season after back-to-back 23-point performances over the weekend. She was also named the Philadelphia Big 5's Player of the Week, it is her second such honor of the season.
Rhoads' efforts helped lift theQuakers to an Ivy weekend sweep of Brown and Yale. It was the first Ivy sweep for the Quakers since late February 2005.
Rhoads rained six three-pointers and was 18-of-30 from the field for the weekend. She warmed up in the second half against Brown going four-for-four from three-point range. She grabbed five steals against the Bears and had seven rebounds on the weekend.
Rhoads and the Quakers will take their show on the road to Dartmouth and Harvard for their first road Ivy games of the season, Feb. 9-10. Game time in Hanover, N.H. is set for 7 p.m. In Cambridge, Mass. the tip will be at 6 p.m.
