PHILADELPHIA - University of Pennsylvania junior guard Joey Rhoads has been named Ivy League Player of the Week for her outstanding performance in the Quakers' 76-73 overtime victory over Lehigh last Friday at The Palestra.
The Huntingdon Valley, Pa., native, scored a career- and game-high 26 points, including a career-best six three-pointers.
Rhoads, who was a torrid 6-of-10 from beyond the arc, scored five of Penn's nine points in the decisive overtime period. Rhoads was 9-of-18 from the floor overall and also notched five assists and three boards.
This is her first careerIvy League Player of the Week award.
The Penn women's basketball team (1-0) returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 22, for a Big 5 match-up with No. 19Temple (3-0) at 7 p.m., in The Palestra.
