PHILADELPHIA - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has announced its All-District teams in Division I, and Penn senior guard Zack Rosen was named a first-team selection in District 13. District 13 takes into consideration players from the Ivy League, the Patriot League, and the NCAA Division I independent programs.

Rosen is joined on the first team by a pair of Ivy Leaguers, Greg Mangano of Yale and Keith Wright of Harvard. The rest of the first team is filled out by C.J. McCollum (Lehigh) and Mike Muscala (Bucknell) from the Patriot League. The District 13 second team consists of Ian Hummer (Princeton), Kyle Casey (Harvard) and Brian Barbour (Columbia) from the Ivy League, and Charles Hinkle (American) and Ella Ellis (Army) from the Patriot League.

This marks the third time Rosen has been an NABC All-District selection, but the first time earning first-team honors. He is Penn's first first-team honoree since Ibrahim Jaaber in 2007. On a more historical note, Rosen is just the third player in program history to earn NABC All-District honors three times since the award started being given in 1950. The others are Corky Calhoun and Bobby Morse, both of whom earned All-District from 1970-72.

Rosen was a unanimous selection as the Ivy League Player of the Year by the Ancient Eight coaches, and he also was the only Ivy Leaguer named All-District II by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association. Rosen is one of 10 finalists for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, and will be honored at the Final Four in New Orleans in a few weeks for that accomplishment.

Rosen and the Penn men's basketball team is 20-12 after its 74-63 win over Quinnipiac in the opening round of the CBI Presented by Zebra Pen on Wednesday night. In that game, Rosen had 16 points, dished off nine assists without a turnover, and collected two steals. He now has 170 assists on the season, becoming the program's single-season leader in that category. The Quakers will host Butler on Monday at The Palestra. Penn finished the regular season with an 11-3 Ivy League record, finishing in second place behind Harvard.
