Roth Named Ivy Pitcher of the Week for the Second Straight Week

PHILADELPHIA – Penn freshman pitcher Todd Roth has been named Ivy League Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week.

In his start Saturday against Columbia, he had a no-hitter for 6.2 innings, his second consecutive complete-game shutout. Roth retired the first 13 batters and 23 of 25. He walked a batter with two outs in the seventh then surrendered the first hit of the game. He retired the next batter for the win. Roth extended his scoreless streak to 16.2 innings.

For the season Roth is 2-1 with a 1.32 ERA in 27.1 innings pitched.

The Quakers return to action on Tuesday when they host Saint Joseph’s in the first round of the Liberty Bell Classic at 3:30 p.m.
