Sam Crook broke her own school record in the pole vault with a vault of 12 feet, six inches to capture thepole vault during the first day of competition at the Boston University Terrier Classic on Friday.
Crook beat last year's recording-set mark by a half inch. Also placing in the pole vault was Lauren Davis, who tied for fifth with a mark of 10 feet, six inches.
In the shot put, Charity Payneplaced second with a throw of 13.48m.Payne eclipsed her personal bestof 13.36m to notch the second-best throw in program history.
In the 55m hurdles, Jeanette Curtisposted a time of 8.66 secondsen route to an eighth-place finish. Also finishing in the top-ten in their respective events were Rachel Dailey who finished ninth in the high jump(1.57m) and Charlie Tabler who finished ninth in the weight throw with a toss of 14.25m.
In the 55m, Izu Emeagwali finished 11thin a time of 7.34 seconds while teammate Shaunee Morgan placed 14thby clocking a7.39. In the 5,000m, senior Claire Duncan finished 24th out of 44 runners with a time of 17:39.21
