PHILADELPHIA Michael Dowd, head coach of women’s tennis at the University of Pennsylvania, has announced the hiring of Sara Schiffman, C’06, as assistant coach.
Schiffman was a four-year letterwinner and a captain her junior and senior seasons with the Red and Blue. During her career, Schiffman compiled a 32-22 singles record, including an impressive 20-7 mark her sophomore year. During her time at Penn, the Quakers made two trips to the NCAA Tournament, punctuated by an impressive 4-2 win over No. 30 Tennessee in the first round this past May.
“Sara will come in and hit the ground running,” said Dowd, “She will spearhead recruiting, alumni relations and player development. Sara will bring personality and life to this program and help us get back to the top of the Ivy League.”
