Scalora Honored by Ivy League Again

PHILADELPHIA - The Ivy League has announced its weekly awards in women's soccer, and for the second week in a row Penn freshman Kerry Scalora has been named Rookie of the Week. After sharing the honor last week with Brown's Mika Siegelman, Scalora takes it outright this week.

Scalora earns her second straight Ivy League award after scoring Penn's first goal in its 3-0 conference win over Cornell on Friday night. It was the freshman's team-leading third goal this season.

Princeton's Caitlin Blosser was named the Ivy League Player of the Week after scoring four goals last week, including two in a 2-1 Ivy win over Dartmouth.

Scalora is one of four players to have scored twice this season, but the only one from that quartet to have an assist, giving her a team-high seven points. Scalora and the Quakers are 5-5-0 so far this season, but are 2-0-0 in Ivy League play. This Friday, they will host 1-0-1 Columbia at 7 p.m. on Rhodes Field.
