PHILADELPHIA--Men's soccer forward Omid Shokoufandeh was named the Ivy League Player of the Week as well as being named to the Philadelphia Soccer Seven honor roll.
The senior notched his seventh goal of the season and the game-winner against Yale. With just 1:55 left in regulation of a 1-1 tie game, Shokoufandeh battled through traffic in the box to head home a throw-in. His seven goals beats any of his career point totals. It is also the most goals scored by any Quaker in a single season since he joined the Red and Blue. The win keeps the Quakers tied for second in the Ivy standings.Shokoufandeh and the Quakers host one of just two home games left in the regular season, Saturday at Rhodes Field. Penn and Brown are tied for second in the Ivy League standings and will kick-off in the Homecoming game at 7:30 p.m.
