PHILADELPHIA--Omid Shokoufandeh was named the Philadelphia Soccer Seven Player of the Week in the final round of awards this season.
The forward was able to find some open net through traffic at the goalmouth in the 89th minute to break a 1-1 stalemate with Cornell and clinch a win for the Quakers. It was the junior’s second goal of the season and his first match-winner in the season finale for both teams. He played well in the match, putting pressure on the Big Red defense and keeper throughout the second half before notching the goal.
The award is his first such honor this season and the second of his career. He was also named to the Ivy League Weekly Honor Roll.
