Snow Moves No. 5 Women's Squash at No. 4 Princeton to Thursday

PHILADELPHIA - Women's Squash will make the trip to Princeton on Thursday in a crucial Ivy League matchup. Penn (5-2 Overall, 2-1 Ivy) comes into the contest in fourth place in the Ivy League standings. Princeton (6-0 Overall, 2-0 Ivy) will come into the contest a half game back of the Ivy leaders, Yale and Harvard, who are both 3-0 in the Ivy League. With a victory, Penn would jump over Princeton into third place in the Ivy League Standings.

The Quakers come into the contest after a tough 6-3 loss against No. 3 Trinity over the weekend. The match with Princeton will mark the third consecutive top 10 opponent the Quakers have played and the second consecutive top-five team. Coming into the match with Trinity, the Quakers had been on a three match winning streak. After that match, only two Quakers remain undefeated for the season. Both Pia Trikha and Yarden Odinak ran their individual records to 7-0 with victories this past Saturday.

Princeton has not seen competitive action since December 5. In the Tigers six victories, five have come by 9-0 sweep. Their closest match of the season came against Cornell, who they defeated 7-2.

Penn and Princeton have four common opponents to date and each have produced equally impressive results. Penn and Princeton both have 9-0 victories over Franklin & Marshall and Brown. The Quakers also have a 9-0 victory over Cornell and an 8-1 victory over Williams. Princeton owns the aforementioned 7-2 win over Cornell and a 9-0 sweep over Williams. In the match a year ago, Penn defeated Princeton 6-3. Rachael Goh, Annie Madeira, Stephanie Vogel and Odinak all picked up key victories for the Quaker win.

This top-five matchup will feature nine players from Princeton in the top 70. Penn will also send nine ranked players to the courts, all of which are currently in the top 80. The women's match will follow the men's match at approximately 7 p.m.
