Softball Announces Class of 2013

PHILADELPHIAUniversity of Pennsylvania softball head coach Leslie King has announced her incoming class for the 2010 season. The program’s Class of 2013 will include eight recruited student-athletes.

"This class is arguably the most talented I have brought into Penn,” said King. “They are an experienced and athletic group with many accomplishments already under their belts. I expect them to provide an immediate impact with not only their playing ability but their leadership skills and work ethic. I am looking forward to next year already so we can elevate our team to an Ivy League championship!"

The softball program’s Class of 2013 hails from six different states, including two from Florida and one from California. In addition, two high school rivals will come together as teammates at Penn.

The eight incoming student-athletes will join 16 returning letterwinners, including all seven Quakers who received All-Ivy recognition in 2009. The Red and Blue finished the 2009 season 15-28-1, including 10-10 in the Ancient Eight – second in the Ivy South Division.
