LOS ANGELES, Calif. In their second game of Thursday’s morning-afternoon doubleheader, the University of Pennsylvania softball team (4-4) Loyola Marymount (14-9) in five innings.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the third. The Lions exploded for 10 runs on nine hits. LMU sent 14 batters to the plate and three Lions had two hits a piece in the inning. Starting pitcher Lindsey Permar was tagged for fourearned in the inning. Michelle Rehm came in relief of Permar to record the last out of the inning.
Stephanie Reichert had Penn’s only hit of the game when she led off the game with a double. LMU starter Krystal Kehr picked up the win. .
These two team will meet again on Friday morning at 9 a.m. PST. The Quakers will face Loyola Chicago immediately following the first game.
