Penn 1, Temple 7 (Game 2)

PHILADELPHIA - In a non-conference doubleheader Penn was defeated by Temple 7-1 and 7-2 on Wednesday at Warren Field. Alisha Prystowsky and Susan Miller both had home runs that drove in the Quaker runs. The Quakers are now 9-20-1 overall and 4-4 in the Ivy League, while the Owls are 7-24.

Game One
The first game of the doubleheader remained a 0-0 draw until Temple was able to light up the scoreboard first with a single run in the top of the fourth. The Owls added four more in the fifth to take a 5-0 lead. In the sixth, the Red and Blue responded with two runs off Prystowksy's two run homer - her fifth home run of the year. Unfortunately, the Quakers could not string a sequence of runs together to add more runs on the board as Temple eventually won, 7-1.

The Owls finished game one with a 11-5 hitting advantage with the Quakers adding threeerrors that aided the Owl offense.

Game Two
The Quakers were the first to get on the board in game two. On the first pitch of first at bat of the day, Miller connected with the ball to send it far over the fence for Miller's first home run of the season and second of her career. Unfortunately, that was the only run the Quakers could produce as Penn fell 7-1. Miller went three-for-three, while Prystowsky was two-for-three.

The Quakers are in Ithaca, N.Y., for the weekend with two doubleheaders against Cornell- their first games against aDivision West opponent.
