Softball Welcomes Delaware for Last Non-Conference Contest

PHILADELPHIA - The Penn softball team will close out its non-conference schedule Wednesday when it hosts Delaware for a single game, starting at 3 p.m. on Warren Field.

Penn (16-21, 10-6 Ivy) comes off a 3-4 weekend against Ivy foe Princeton, in which the Red and Blue won the first three games convincingly (8-5, 11-7, and 5-1) before falling 4-3 in the series conclusion. Sophomore Chelsea Ott (6-6) earned a win on each day, pitching two complete games, including a four-hit gem in Penn's 5-1 victory. She pilots the pitching staff with a 3.02 ERA on the year.

Senior Keiko Uraguchi anchored the team at the plate with three multi-hit games and five runs scored. She leads the squad with a .350 average on the season.

Freshmen Brooke Coloma, and Stephanie Caso were also stellar as Coloma popped three home runs, tallying two in the 11-7 win, and Caso belted three doubles, going 7-for-15 to improve her season average to .322.

On the season, junior Alisha Prystowsky owns a .330 batting average and leads the squad with a .486 on-base and .575 slugging percentages.

Delaware (18-25-1, 6-9 CAA) enters the midweek matchup recovering from a 1-3 series with Drexel. The Blue Hens are led by Shanette White (.355) and Jenny Richard (.351). Michelle Grap has proven to be a power at the plate, crushing 13 home runs this season, including a game-tying blast in the rubber match with the Dragons.

Seen most in the circle, Amanda Stacevicz (10-11) owns a 3.42 ERA in 139.1 innings and has limited her opponents to a .273 batting average. Anne Marie Pagano has also seen a considerable amount of time, throwing 122 innings with a 4.02 ERA.
