Spiro Named Co-Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA--Junior Emma Spiro earned her first Ivy League honors of the season after a four-goal performance at Columbia. It was her first honor in the offensive category, though she won for her defensive efforts once last season.

Emma Spiro scored on four of her five shots against in No. 2 Penn’s win at Columbia Friday and was two-for-two on her free position shots. She dominated the draw circle with six draw controls and also nabbed one groundball. Spiro is third on the team in points and second in goals. She also holds a team-high four game-winners and 30 draw controls. Spiro has consistently contributed to Penn’s undefeated record with multiple points in all but one game this season.

Spiro and the Quakers are back in action with a road trip to Johns Hopkins, Wednesday at 7 p.m.
