PHILADELPHIA--Sophomore Emma Spiro of the Penn women's lacrosse team was named the Co-Defensive Player of the Week by the Ivy League. It is Penn's third consecutivenod in the defensive category and Spiro's first career recognition in the weekly honors.
A starter on themidfield, Spiropestered the Temple offense all day Saturday. The sophomore caused three turnovers, picked up five ground balls and won two draws. All this while not committing any turnovers or fouls. She leads the team in groundballs with 30 this season.
