Sprint Football Defeats Princeton, 53-18

PRINCETON - Penn earned the seasons sweep of Princeton with a 53-18 win over the Tigers in Princeton on Friday. With the win, the Quakers end the season 4-2 and 3-1 in the Collegiate Sprint Football League. The 3-1 finish in league play is good for second place in the league.

Penn opened the scoring with 5:57 remaining in the first quarter. Colin Dampier threwa touchdown pass toTomas Altamirano from 23 yards out. A Mark Dziemianowicz extra point made the score 7-0.

Four miuntes later, the Quakers extended their lead to 13-0 off of a nine-yard pass from Altamirano to Marten Basta on the wide receiver option. Raiam Santos has his extra point blocked.

The Quakers struck again with 7:20 remaining in the first half. Mike Bagnoli scampered in from 10-yards out for his second rushing touchdown of the season. Dziemanowicz' kick was good for a 20-0 lead.

Five minutes later, Penn added to its lead with a Rob Lombardi rushing TD. The senior and leading rusher in the CSFL found the endzone from five yards out for his fourth rushing score of the season.

The Red and Blue found the endzone one more time before the end of the first half when Dampier connected for his second passing score of the game. This time, he hit Basta from 11-yards out with just 32 ticks left on the clock.

It didn't take long for the Quakers to score in the second half. With 11:09 left in the third quarter, Dampier tossed his third TD of the game. Clarke Aramtis pulled in a 14-yard reception to give Penn a 41-0 lead.

Penn's shutout bid was spoiled with 1:56 remaining in the third quarter. Andrew Dixon threw a TD pass to Lon Johnson from 25 yards out to get the Tigers on the board. The Tigers could not convert the extra point, leaving the score 41-6.

Princeton found paydirt again with 9:24 left in the game. Dixon found Anthony Soroka from 10 yards out for his second TD pass of the game. The Quakers got a hand on the extra point, keeping the score 41-12.

Ryan Levan pulled in a four-yard touchdown pass with 7:23 to play, Dampier's third TD pass of the game.

With 2:48 to play, Dixon hit for the trifecta, again finding Johnson for a passing touchdown. The nine-yard pass made the score 41-18.

Penn found the endzone one more time when Max Greenky rushed three yards for a score with 1:10 left in the game. Santos again missed the extra point, leaving the score 53-18.

Penn's four wins are the most by the team since 2004.
