Sprint Football Looks to Stay Undefeated

PHILADELPHIA – The Penn sprint football team is back on Franklin Field Friday night at 7 p.m. to host the Army Black Knights (2-2). The Quakers are looking to stay undefeated and go 4-0 on the season.

In last season’s game, Penn played a hard fought match and beat Army 13-12 at West Point.

Penn’s offense and defense have been crucial thus far in the season and both lead the CSFL in their respective categories. The offense has as CSFL high of 377 total average yards per game, while defense has limited its opponents to an average of 120 yards per game, the lowest in the conference. In addition, the Quakers have allowed their opponents 15 total points over their three games, Army is a distant second with 38.

Individual leader, Mike Bagnoli currently has a CSFL high 232 rushing yards. Wifi Fernandez is fifth overall with 147 yards. Marten Basta made the overall receiving list with 232 yards and three touchdowns, and Michael D'Angelo cracked the top three passing leaders with 541 yards.

The Red and Blue are coming off an impressive win during Mansfield’s homecoming weekend, 34-12. Penn was led by CSFL Defensive Player of the Week Michael McMullen, who tallied eight solo tackles and assisted on four more.

Most recently, Army recorded a commanding win over Princeton, 58-0. The Black Knights' two losses came at the hands of Wagner and Navy.
