LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Junior Stacy Kimof the Penn cross country team ran the 6K NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional race Saturday in a time of 20:56.6 good for a sixth-place overall finish and an automatic qualification to the 2006 NCAA National Championship in Terre Haute, Ind., Nov. 20.
As a team, the Quakers finished in seventh place at the race with 197 points. Ivy League rival Princeton won the race with 56 points followed by Georgetown with 77 points. Both teams will advance to the national race along with the top four finishers not on either team.
Following Stacy Kim was her twin sister Claire Kim in a time of 21:30.6. Her 29th-place finish was just four places shy of earning her all-district honors. Penn’s other three scoring runners finished within 44 seconds of Claire Kim. Christina Morrison clocked a 21:56.6 for 42nd place. Leah Brogan was in at 22:10.8 and 58th place followed by Kinjal Parikh at 22:14.7 in 62nd.
Jamie Liberti and Carol Xu also ran the course. Liberti finished in 68th place with a time of 22:21 while Xu finished in 22:48 good for 92nd place.
