Stacy Kim Sets School Record at NCAA Championships

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sophomore Stacy Kim, sophomore Kyle Calvo and senior Courtney Jaworskiconcluded their individual performances at the NCAA Championships on Thursday. Jaworski and Kim both failed to qualify in their respective events.

On the women’s side, Kim placed 11th in her preliminary heat of the 1500-meter run. She finished at 4:22.82 --setting a school record in the process as well as a personal best--in placing19th overall.

Among the men, Calvo placed 14th overall in the decathlon with 6,754 points. He ran 11.44 in the 100-meter dash, jumped 6.64m in the long jump and threw 12.03m in the shot put. The sophomore bested his performances from Wednesday in the high jump, clearing 1.92m and the 400-meter dash, finishing at 49.93.

In his final event wearing the Red and Blue, Jaworski finished eighth in a semifinal heat of the 800-meter run (1:49.39).

This concludes the outdoor track season.
