Philadelphia - Kevin Stefanski, C'04, hung up his cleats and No.30 jersey for the final time this past November but it did not take the two-time All-Ivy League honoree long to rejoin familiar surroundings as the Wayne, Pa. native was named the assistant director of football operations. Stefanski was a member of three Ivy League championship teams (2000, 2002-03) and helped the Red and Blue to back-to-back undefeated Ancient Eightcampaigns during the 2002 and 2003 campaign.
|Stefanksi, acaptain of the 2004 Quakers, will assist with day-to-day management of practices, coordinate travel and accommodations for the team and file and disseminate online questionnaires from prospective Penn student-athletes.|
As a student-athlete, Stefanski finished his Penn career with 104 tackles (73 solo) and seven interceptions. He recorded 49 tackles during his senior season, which ranked third on the team along with current Quaker Michael Johns.
The Quakers embark on their 129th season in program history and are coming off an 8-2 season in 2004. Penn returns 40 letterwinners from a squad that was a game away from winning its third-straight Ivy League title a year ago. The Red and Blue opens their season at Franklin Field on Sept. 17, hosting Duquesne at 3:30 p.m. For tickets, call 215-898-6151.
