PHILADELPHIA - The Ivy League has announced its weekly award winners in women's soccer, and University of Pennsylvania freshman forward Sasha Stephens has been named co-Ivy League Rookie of the Week along with Princeton freshman Mimi Asom.
This is the second time Stephens has been honored with the weekly award this season, she also received it after the first weekend of play. This time around, Stephens earned the award after scoring twice and adding an assist in Penn's 5-0 win over American last Tuesday. Stephens enters this week leading Penn in goals (4) and points (10) and tied for second on the team in assists (2).
Penn's next game takes place Saturday, when the Quakers host Yale in an Ivy League match on Rhodes Field. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m., and it is the first half of a Rhodes doubleheader as the Penn and Yale men will kick off afterward.
