Strausbaugh, Bonincontri Earn ECAC Weekly Honors

PHILADELPHIA - Contributing to the Penn gymnastics team's highest score of the season (191.325) last Friday against Maryland, Temple, and Southern Connecticut, freshman Kirsten Strausbaugh earned the ECAC's Rookie of the Week honor, while classmate Dana Bonincontri was named the Coach's Choice.

For the first time this season, Strausbaugh won the all-around in a quad meet with a career and season best mark (38.750). She also tied for sixth on vault (9.650), third on bars (9.750), seventh on beam (9.650), and had the second highest score for the team on floor with a 9.700.

Bonincontri has been a consistent contributor since joining the squad in competition after an early season injury. For the fourth meet in a row she had the highest score for the team on at least one her events. This meet, she scored the team high on every event she competed in, including a 9.775 on bars, 9.670 on beam, and 9.775 on floor, tying her career high on bars and exceeding her personal best on floor.
