PHILADELPHIA - In the penultimate regatta of the Fall, the University of Pennsylvania lightweights posted several successful showings at the Head of the Schuylkill on Saturday.

Penn had five boats in the first race of the morning. The Quakers showed some impressive consistency with all five boats within about 30 seconds of each other. The Red and Blue pairs finished third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh in the 19-boat race. The top pair finished in 15:09.08, while the final Penn boat to cross the finish line was at 15:46.05.

In the fours, the Quakers finished second to a Penn heavyweight boat. The heavies finished in 14:16.81, while the first lightweight crew to finish stopped the clock at 14:21.19. Matt Weaver guided the second Penn boat across the finish in 14:29.20 for a fourth-place finish. The Quakers also finished 18th and 32nd among 50 crews.

In the heavyweight eights, the Quakers earned a top-five finish at 13:04.05, and a seventh-place finish at 13:10.38. Penn's other three boats finished 17th, 22nd and 25th among 28 crews.

There is just one weekend of racing remaining for the Red and Blue. Penn heads to the Princeton Chase next Sunday, Nov. 1.
