PHILADELPHIA - Both the men's and women's swim teams came home with wins Tuesday night at La Salle. The men beatthe Explorers,170.5-124.5, while the women won, 169-128.
The Quakers had a number of first-place finishes on both sides.
For the women, Alison Bretherick won the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:38.79, while Sara Coenen came in first in the 200 free with a time of 1:53.76. Tara Gillieswon the 100-yard backstroke at 59.62, while Megan Carlin came in first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:09.94.Freshman Stephanie Nerby won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:09.43, while Lauren Brandes won the 50 free with a time of 24.77. Janis Scanlon took first place in the one-meter diving competition with a total score of 272.32, and Andrea Balint took home two first-place finishes, asshe won the 100-yard free (53.34) and the 200 IM (2:09.97).
For the men, several Quakerswere multiplewinners. Larkin Macdonald won the 100-yard (53.94) and 200-yard backstroke (1:56.77), while Yuchi Zhang took home first in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke events with times of 59.08 and 2:10.17, respectively. Patrick Gallagher also won two events, as he came in first in the 50 free (21.91) and 100 free (2:10.17). Devon Carrwon the 200-yard butterflyin 1:53.81, while Wei Ming (Brian) Gan won the 100-yard butterfly in 52.14.
