Swimming Teams Travel To Kenyon

PHILADELPHIA - The men's and women's swimming teams embark on their longest bus trip of the season, traveling west to Kenyon, Ohio for the Nike Invitational this Thursday through Saturday.

Penn is one of the five teams taking part in this event. The Quakers will face off against Carnegie-Mellon, Davidson, Johns Hopkins and host Kenyon in the three-day Invitational.

The men look to improve on their performance two weekends ago when they fell to both Princeton and Cornell. In that meet, the Quakers took two first place finishes on the evening. Sophomore Jeff Cragg won the 1-meter diving event and took second in the 3-meter, while the 400 yard free relay team of Brendan McHugh, James Fee, Peter Amos and Kyle Loughran also finished first.

The women, meanwhile, look to build on their early success this season after splitting with Cornell and Princeton on November 20. In that meet, freshman Ji Young Lee won both the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke, while teammate Laura Klick finishing third and second respectively. The Quakers also swam well in the 200 IM as senior Andrea Balint won and freshman Melissa Parratto took second.
