PHILADELPHIA - On Wednesday, the University of Pennsylvania football team hosted its Pro Day for NFL Scouts at Franklin Field. Penn seniors Jake Lewko, Joe Goniprow and Chris Wynn as well as several other local players, including Villanova's Osayi Osunde, went through the NFL Combine work out for scouts, coaches, agents and members of the media.

Scouts from the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay Packers, Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers were in attendance as were several agents and NFL assistant coaches, including New England Patriots wide receivers coach Chad O'Shea.

The players met with the scouts prior to the work out and were then taken to have their official height and weight measurements recorded. Identical to the work out at the NFL scouting combine, the players went through several tests of strength, speed and agility. On the bench press, each player tried to complete as many repititions as possible at 225 lbs. They then tested their vertical and horizontal leap before moving on to the 40-yard dash and agility drills.

The final drills at Franklin Field were position based. The players ran through a series of position-specific drills with the scouts. When the on-field testing was finished, the players were then ushered inside to take an intelligence test, much like that of the Wonderlic test at the NFL combine. The 20-minute test was the end of a four-hour day for the eight players in attendance.

Since Al Bagnoli took over as the George A. Munger Head Coach of Football, 12 Penn players have signed NFL contracts. The last of which was offensive lineman Sean Estrada in 2007 when he signed with the San Francisco 49ers.
