Track & Field Readies for Meets in Virginia

PHILADELPHIA - The Penn track and field teams are back in action this weekend at the Virginia Quad Meet and Lou Onesty/Milton G. Abramson Invitational set for Friday, April 8th and Saturday, April 9th in a pair of events hosted by the University of Virginia.

Friday’s Quad meet features Penn, Maryland, Columbia and Virginia on Lannigan Field in Charlottesville, Va. and will be scored in a dual-meet format. Field events start at 4 p.m. while running events kick off shortly thereafter at 4:30 p.m.

The Lou Onesty/Milton G. Abramson Invitational set for Saturday marks the Quakers return to Lannigan Field for the second meet of the weekend. Athletes from around the country will be looking for qualifying marks to punch their ticket to the NCAA East Preliminary set for May 26-28in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Quakers will also send two athletes to the Sam Howell Invitational to compete in the 10,000 meters. Sophomore Chris Luciano and freshman Kevin Monogue are set to race on Friday evening in Princeton, N.J.
