Los Angeles, Calif. University of Pennsylvania freshman Mike Hall finished fourth in the decathlon at the USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Home Depot Center on Sunday evening.
The Avondale, Pa. native scored 6,776 points in the 10 event competition, which is a personal best for the rookie. Hall had strong performances in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.34, scoring 809 points and the 100m taking 750 points with a time of 11.51.
Michael Bingham of Wake Forest won the meet with 7,042 points. David Pichler of Azusa Pacific finished second (6,966), Michael Morrison of Chesapeake was third (6,952), followed by Hall, who was competing unattached, and Tim Wunderlich, who also competed unattached placed fifth (6,706).
Hall won the heptathlon at the 2005 Indoor Heptagonal championships and finished seventh in the decathlon at the Outdoor Heptagonal Championships.
