Volleyball Drops Matches to Temple and Villanova

PHILADELPHIA
– The University of Pennsylvania volleyball team dropped 3-0 contests to Villanova (14-25, 11-25, 22-25) and Temple (18-25, 16-25, 17-25) on Saturday at Tom Gola Arena. The Quakers finished the Big 5 Tournament with record of 1-2 after sweeping La Salle on Friday night.

Inside the Numbers
Courtney Quinn and Caroline Furrer led the Penn offense, combining for 19 kills on the day. The duo also added 13 digs. Freshman Ariana Wiltjer put together a breakout performance against Villanova, hitting a red-hot .750 with a career-best six kills. Hayley Molnar piled up eight kills in the two matches. 

Michelle Pereira was named to the Big 5 All-Tournament team after tallying up 41 digs, three service aces and a pair of kills in the three matches.
