New Haven, Conn.The University of Pennsylvania women’s volleyball dropped a hard fought match to Yale, 3-1, this evening on the road.
The Quakers (6-5, 0-2 Ivy League) came out strong in the first game with a 30-23 win. However, the Red and Blue could not stave off the Bulldogs’ (6-4, 1-1 Ivy League) attack, as Yale took the next three games, 30-22, 30-18, and 30-25.
Rookie Laura Black led the way for Penn with 15 kills, while Michelle Kauffman had 14 kills and senior Lynzy Caton added 12 kills. Junior Cara Thomason had 27 digs for the Quakers and freshman Linda Zhang chipped in with 50 assists on the night.
Penn continues Ivy League road play tomorrow as it heads to Brown for a 4 p.m. start.
