Volleyball Swept by Princeton

Princeton 3, Penn 0

PHILADELPHIA - Penn had no answer for Princeton on the court Saturday night, dropping a 3-0 (25-16, 15-19, 25-10)decision to the Tigers in the Ivy League volleyball opener for both teams. With the loss, Penn's record now stands at 4-9 (0-1, Ivy). The Tigers improve to 7-2 (1-0, Ivy).

The Tigers controlled play throughout most of the match, with Penn only leading twice the entire match - with both leads coming early in the second set and the final lead for the Quakers being 3-2.

The key to the match was Penn's inability to come up with clean attacks. As a team, Penn's hitting percentage for the match was .010 compared to Princeton's .269. Four players for the Red and Blue finished with negative percentages. Kathryn Turner (.353) and Ashley Hawkins were the only players with double-digit attempts to finish on the positive side.

Princeton's Parker Henritze lead all players with 13 kills. Turner paced the Quakers with eight.

Penn is back in action October 10 at Cornell at 7 p.m.
