UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Quakers face their toughest test of the season when they take on defending national champion and number one overall seed Penn State, Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Rec Hall on the campus of Penn State.
Penn is making the school's first trip to the round of 32, after defeating Army 3-1 on Friday night. The Red and Blue dropped the first set 25-18, but came back to take the next three, 25-20, 25-18, 25-16.
Senior Elizabeth Semmens hit .308 with 22 kills and added 14 digs to lead the Penn attack, while senior Ashley Hawkins and freshman Lauren Martin each added 11 kills. On defense, Madison Wojciechowski had a match-high 28 digs.
Penn State comes into tonight with a perfect 33-0 mark this season. On Friday, the Nittany Lions beat up on Binghamton 3-0 in their opening match of the NCAA Tournament. Against the Bearcats, senior Megan Hodge hit .545 with 13 kills, while junior Arielle Wilson posted 12 kills on 15 attempts.
