W. Lax Earns More All-Americans, Coach of the Year

- Inside Lacrosse magazine has named Penn women's lacrosse Head Coach Karin Brower as itsNational Coach of the Yearand Hilary Renna and Sarah Waxman All-Americans, it was announced Wednesday.

It is the second coach of the year honor this week for Brower, who was also honored by womenslacrosse.com. Renna was named First Team All-America, her third such honor, while Waxman was named to the second team.

Brower guidedthe Quakers to the NCAA semifinals and a 16-2 record. She led the team to its first Ivy League title since 1982 and first NCAA berth since 1984 as the team set program records for wins, consecutive wins (13), highest nationmal ranking (2) and goals scored (210).

Renna is now a consensus First Team All-American after also picking up the honor from the IWLCA and womenslacrosse.com.Only asophomore,the defenderwas also a Tewaaraton nominee, a unanimous First Team All-Ivy pick and a member of the NCAA All-Tournament team.

Waxman, who was also an IWLCA First-Team All-American and a womenslacrosse.com second-teamer, had an outstanding junior season, allowing just 6.51 goals per game and saving .518 of shots faced. Waxman was also a unanimous First-Team All-Ivy pick.
