Cara Calahan, Field Hockey, Sophomore
Penn sophomore forward Cara Calahan (Doylestown, Pa.) had two goals and an assist last week that were instrumental in Penn field hockey victories. She scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in a 2-1 win over Dartmouth. She also tied the game with less than a minute remaining in the first half in Penn's 3-2 win over Villanova. For her performance, Calahan was named Ivy League Player of the Week and was also named to this week's honor roll by www.womensfieldhockey.com.
Jimmer Donapel, Sprint Football, Senior
Senior Jimmer Donapel (Deptford, N.J./Deptford) broke Tommy Frankel's 20-year old all-time passing record, while leading the Penn sprint football team to a 44-0 victory over Princeton at Franklin Field on Oct. 3. Donapel's 12-yard pass to junior Greg Bagnoli (Mt. Laurel, N.J./Lenape) with less than 10 minutes to play in the third quarter, broke Frankel's previous record of 1,960 yards. The new mark now stands at 1,972 yards. With the win the Quakers improved to 1-1 on the season, while the Tigers fell to 0-2.
