Williams, Wynn Earn Ivy League Weekly Honors

PHILADELPHIA - Senior Scotty Williams has been named Ivy League Co-Defensive Player of the Week and freshman Chris Wynn has been named Rookie of the Week, the League office has announced.

Williams had a superb game against Brown, recovering a fumble for a touchdown and intercepting two passes. His fumble recovery for a touchdown and his first interception came on back-to-back plays. Williams also posted six tackles. It is the first Ancient Eight honor for the team's co-captain. He earns the honor along with Harvard's Michael Berg.

Wynn, who was returning kicks for the first time in his career, broke free for a 98-yards touchdown against Brown. With time expiring in the third quarter, Wynn took the kick at his own two-yard line and hit a hole, outrunning a defender down the sideline for the score. The play- the fourth-longest kick returnin Penn’s 130-year history- was the program’s longest kickoff return since 1955.

Penn has now had a player honored in each of the four categories (Offensive, Defense, Special Teams and Rookie) this season.

The Quakers continue their season this Saturday with a 1 p.m. start at Princeton.
