Wojciechowski Named Academic All-District by CoSIDA

PHILADELPHIA - The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) have announced their women's volleyball ESPN Academic All-District teams and senior Madison Wojciechowksi was honored as a second-team selection for district 2.

It is the first CoSIDA honor for Wojciechowski, who was honored as an Academic All-Ivy selection in 2009. She is also one of three Ivy players to be named Academic All-District in 2010. The senior is the fourth Penn volleyball player to be named Academic All-District and first since Cara Thomason in 2005.

Wojciechowski is in the midst of a career year, currently ranked second in the entire nation, averaging 5.84 digs per set. Last weekend she became just the second setter in Ivy League history to record 2,000 digs, and is 40 from passing former Cornell standout Megan Mushovic for the league record. She also owns the Penn's career (2,001), single-season (607) and single-match (40) dig records.

The senior and the rest of the Quakers return to the court Friday when they take on Columbia on Friday night at 7 p.m.
