PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women’s golf team will play in the Ivy League Women's Championship this weekend. This year’s 54-hole event, which begins Friday and continues through Sunday, will take place at Orange Tree Golf Club in Orlando, Fla. Orange Tree will play at par 72.
Penn’s lineup will include seniors Isabella Rahm and Erin Lo; juniors Allison Wong and Tiffany Yau; and freshman Christina Park. Rahm, Lo, Wong and Yau were in the lineup for Penn at the Hoya Invitational last week, while Park played the tournament as an individual and ended up as the low scorer among Quakers players and tied for eighth overall.
Penn’s only team title in this Championship came in 2010, and the Quakers took second two years later. The Quakers finished sixth last year.
“We are very excited as we head into the Championship,” said Penn head coach Mark Anderson. “I am proud of our team and how they have prepared for this event. This is our third trip to Florida this season, and I know that the team will be very comfortable in Orlando this weekend. Everyone on the team is playing well and it should be a very exciting Ivy League Championship. Orange Tree is a fantastic venue and will prove to be a great test for the championship.”
